These memoirs are dedicated to my beloved cousin and mentor Jane C. Arenz
(nee Lempi Rauha Siitonen — 1911–1984) …

 

 … and to my IWW class warrior uncle Antti Saikkonen (1891–1917) who I never knew.

(My uncle is the guy in the center of a group of Finnish Wobblies in a logging camp in Maine
circa 1915, holding onto the log and wearing a black Stetson. —h.)
